The Art of Inspiring Students to Study Strategically 2-part (60 minutes each, part 1 and part 2)
Research reveals: most students have never been taught how to study and the strategies they devise on their own don’t work. This lively workshop condenses the latest complex brain science into a simple 3-step model, The Study Cycle. Participants will leave understanding the surprising science behind (in)effective study strategies and be prepared to teach this new “anti-boring” model to students quickly and effectively. 4 Steps to Help Get Teens off their Butt and Get in Gear (Part 2)
How the heck do you teach students to be better time managers and overcome procrastination urges? It’s an art, not a science, but there are some general rules of thumb. This workshop will teach the 4-step “Get in Gear” model for helping students troubleshoot time management troubles and create anti-procrastination plans. Participants will receive step-by-step instructions for how to teach this process to students. This is Gretchen's second presentation of the day but you do not have to attended the first presentation in order to attend.
