The objective of the presentation is to: discuss why creating community in independent studies is important, how SIATech Pico Union independent study creates community, and a brainstorming session to generate ideas among schools on ways to create community.
I am an Independent Study High School Teacher at SIATech Charter High School in Pico Union (Los Angeles). We serve students 16-24 for credit recovery providing a flexible strategy for students to get their high school diploma.
