Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Objective: Understand best practices to effectively engage and partner with families at independent study schools. Discover how to successfully engage more families, especially low socio-economic and non-native English speakers, using an evidenced-based comprehensive program. Learn how, why and when family engagement opportunities are introduced to parents and students.  Also discussed is how to best inform parents of important school-wide information, how families can mutually set academic goals with their child and effectively monitor progress weekly, monthly, and throughout the year.  Part 1 reviews the who, what, when and why of an evidence-based comprehensive family engagement strategy, while Part 2 models exactly how it is done.  Each attendee participating in both sessions will receive a full-color 32-page wall calendar and folder containing sample documents presented during the sessions.
